German transcription: 13. Vater: Friederich Wilhelm Conrad <u>Waßmann</u>, Brinksitzer und Leinweber zu Kemnade. Mutter: Hanne Dorothea Friederike Wilhelmine, geborene Ritter, neun und zwanzig Jahre. Geburt: Der zwei und zwanzigste März, früh um zwei Uhr. Taufe: Der neun und zwanzigste März. Kind: (Tochter) Johanne Louise. Taufzeugen: Dorothea Louise Amalie, geborene Schütte, des Leibzüchters Johann Christoph Waßmann zu Kemnade Ehefrau.
English translation: 13. Father: Friederich Wilhelm Conrad Waßmann (underlined in the original), cottager (Brinksitzer) and linen-weaver at Kemnade. Mother: Hanne Dorothea Friederike Wilhelmine, née Ritter, twenty-nine years. Birth: the twenty-second of March, two o’clock in the early morning. Baptism: the twenty-ninth of March. Child: (daughter) Johanne Louise. Godparent: Dorothea Louise Amalie, née Schütte, wife of the retired smallholder (Leibzüchter) Johann Christoph Waßmann of Kemnade.
> Note: the single godparent is the wife of Johann Christoph Waßmann, Leibzüchter at Kemnade — the same Christoph Waßmann entered as the child’s grandfather in the 1834 baptism above, now with his own full name and his wife’s maiden name, Schütte. The mother’s age of twenty-nine here against twenty-seven in March 1834 is internally consistent to the year.
