Transcription

11\. Caroline Louise Wesemann. [Monat:] März. [Geburt:] 31. [Taufe:] April 8. Vater: Conrad Wesemann. Mutter: Dorothea Louise geb. Riekmann. Gevatter: Jungfer Louise Wesemann aus Linse.

Translation

No. 11. Caroline Louise Wesemann, born 31 March, baptized 8 April [1804]. Father: Conrad Wesemann. Mother: Dorothea Louise née Riekmann. Godmother: Miss Louise Wesemann of Linse.

Notes

The godmother is an unmarried Wesemann from Linse: the miller’s daughter Caroline Louise, Conrad’s sister. This is the record that ties the Salzhemmendorf Conrad to the Linse family.

The child carries the godmother’s names, Caroline Louise.

Conventions: text in square brackets is editorial. [?] marks an uncertain reading, [...] an illegible word, and a struck word is shown as struck. Spelling, abbreviation and capitalization follow the original. Ditto marks are shown as “do” or [ditto] with the value they carry in brackets.

Transcribed 8 October 2026 from the PDF image or text layer. Readings in brackets are drafts to be confirmed on the original before they are cited as stated.

The ending -mann is fairly clear here; -meier in 1800. Image check I64. The same Bild holds 1804 no. 8, the Fricke baptism (section 23).
