Removal requests

This is a personal family history by Paul Wesemann. It is meant to name only people who have died, and the site is built to leave out anyone who may be living. If something has slipped through, or if a detail should not be public, please tell me and I will remove or correct it.

Who can ask

  • Anyone named on the site, or anyone who believes they are named.
  • A close relative of someone named on the site, including someone who has died.
  • Anyone who holds rights in material shown on the site.
  • Anyone who finds a mistake.

What I will remove

  • Any name or detail of a living person.
  • Details about someone who died recently, at the request of close family.
  • Sensitive details such as health, a home address or an identification number.
  • A transcript or a passage, if you have rights in it and did not agree to its use here.

What I will correct

Mistakes in names, dates, places or relationships. A record or a reason helps me make the change accurately, but it is not required to report a problem.

How to ask

Write to me through the contact form. Please give the address of the page, what you would like removed or changed, and, if you are comfortable saying so, how you are connected to the person. I may ask a question to make sure I remove the right person. Your request is not published, and it is used only to deal with it.

How quickly

I act on removal requests as quickly as I reasonably can, and I tell you when the change is made. There is no charge.

What I cannot change

I can only change this site. Copies made by others, pages saved by search engines and web archives before a change, and the original records held by archives and libraries are outside my control. Search engines usually update their results once a page has changed; each also offers its own removal request.
