Transcription

5, Johann Heinrich Wesemann aus Grubenhagen, und Clara Christi[ne] [...] Campen aus Salzhem[mendorf]. [Date column:] — 18 [November]

Translation

No. 5. Johann Heinrich Wesemann from Grubenhagen and Clara Christine [...] Campen from Salzhemmendorf. [Married] 18 [November 1770].

Notes

The bride’s first forename reads Clara; the word between Christine and Campen is cut off at the bottom of the crop (possibly ‘von’).

On the same page the only other outsider is given village and district (“aus [Rodenberg?] im Amt Schauenburg”); Wesemann alone is given neither (see the research notes, section 10.6).

Conventions: text in square brackets is editorial. [?] marks an uncertain reading, [...] an illegible word, and a struck word is shown as struck. Spelling, abbreviation and capitalization follow the original. Ditto marks are shown as “do” or [ditto] with the value they carry in brackets.

Transcribed 8 October 2026 from the PDF image or text layer. Readings in brackets are drafts to be confirmed on the original before they are cited as stated.
