Notes
Independent confirmation from two Kirchbrak baptismal entries (4 March 1842 and 19/20 September 1840 — see the separate Kirchbrak document) and repeated cross-checking of this scribe's handwriting across multiple documents settled it: the maiden name is Brand. Both baptismal entries and this marriage entry name the same couple.* > > With the mother confirmed as Brand — matching Johanne Caroline Wilhelmine Brand, the documented mother of Georg Wilhelm Ehrenfried Wesemann and his known older siblings — no second marriage needs to be invoked. This is a previously unknown sibling set: Wilhelmine Luise Karolina Wesemann (b. 1840) and Karl Ludwig Wilhelm Wesemann (b. 1842), both born at Kirchbrak. A systematic check of Kirchbrak baptisms after 1842 found no further children of this couple. > > The Kirchbrak baptismal entries style the father ‘Müllermeister/Müllerpächter zu Kirchbrak’ — not Thran. This is now understood, not an open puzzle: the family's own established history has him reappearing at Linse in 1852, at his wife's death, recorded as Häusling und Müller zu Linse — landless, but still styled a miller. The Kirchbrak baptisms fill in the previously missing stretch between the Thran tenancy and that 1852 record — he worked as a miller at Kirchbrak in the early 1840s, though the record does not say when he left it. See the separate Kirchbrak document for both entries and full discussion. > > Graded: working theory, well supported by two independently converging documents on the parents' names; not fully closed only insofar as the Kirchbrak birthplace/occupation discrepancy with Thran has not yet been explained.
