26\. Sophie Charlotte Wesemann. Octob. Vater: Conrad Wesemann; Mutter: Dorothea Louise geb. Riekmann[s]; Gevattern: Rathsherrn Grimmen Ehefrau, Peter [Ploß?] Ehefrau. [Left margin, later hand: † [day blotted] 1857.]

Translation

No. 26. Sophie Charlotte Wesemann, [born/baptized] October [1800]. Father: Conrad Wesemann. Mother: Dorothea Louise née Riekmann (Rickmann). Godmothers: the wife of Councillor Grimme; the wife of Peter [Ploß?]. [Margin: died 1857.]

Notes

The mother’s maiden name is read Riekmann/Rickmann; the 1828 marriage entry (Bild 108) writes it clearly as Rickmann.

Day columns are outside the crop.

‘Rathsherr Grimme’ is the family of the interim treasurer Grimme who died in March 1814 (Hann. 80 Hannover Nr. 18711).

Conventions: text in square brackets is editorial. [?] marks an uncertain reading, [...] an illegible word, and a struck word is shown as struck. Spelling, abbreviation and capitalization follow the original. Ditto marks are shown as “do” or [ditto] with the value they carry in brackets.

Transcribed 8 October 2026 from the PDF image or text layer. Readings in brackets are drafts to be confirmed on the original before they are cited as stated.

[Page heading "geboren 1800"; columns Monat | Tag d. Geburt | Tag d. Taufe] 26. Sophie Charlotte Wesemann. | Octob. | 5. | 12. Vater: Conrad Wesemann; Mutter: Dorothea Louise geb. Ri[ck/ek]meier; Gevattern: Rathsherrn Grimmen Ehefrau, Peter Ples[s?] Ehefrau. [Left margin: † d. 3[1?] [Jul.?] 1857.]

Translation (English)

No. 26. Sophie Charlotte Wesemann, born 5 October, baptized 12 October 1800. Father Conrad Wesemann; mother Dorothea Louise née Ri[ck]meier. Godmothers: the wife of Councillor Grimme; the wife of Peter Ples[s?]. Margin: died 1857.

Notes

The column headings settle the dates: born 5 October, baptized 12 October 1800 (STATED). The mother's surname ends in -meier in this hand and in the parallel copy (200156, Bild 211), against "Riekmann" in the reading above; the first syllable reads Rick- or Riek- (Paul: Rittameier). An equal-tier conflict with the earlier reading: image check I54.
