Notes
> This is the baptism of Georg Wilhelm Ehrenfried Wesemann's father, and it is the document the paternity chain has been missing. Heinrich Christian Ludewig Wesemann, born at Linse 22 December 1805, son of der Müller Ludwig Wesemann and Justine Marie Küster of Delligsen. The name string matches the father as entered at the 1832 Halle marriage and at all three Kemnade baptisms of his children. > > The father's identity for Georg has stood on inference to this point. This entry does not by itself close that question — it documents the generation above, and it identifies the grandfather as a miller at Linse named Ludwig Wesemann, consistent with Georg Ludewig Wesemann, Mühlenmeister auf der Mittelmühle zu Linse, who stands godfather to his grandson at Kemnade in 1836 and whose 1855 death entry carries the same title. Grading: stated that a son named Heinrich Christian Ludwig was born to the Linse miller Ludwig Wesemann on 22 December 1805; working theory that this is the same Heinrich Christian Ludewig who married Hanne Caroline Wilhelmine Brand in 1832. > > The mother's name is new to this project. Justine Marie Küster, of Delligsen, aged 25 at this birth, so born about 1780. Godparent 4 is the wife of a Heinrich Küster of Delligsen, presumably her own household. > > Godparent 3 is entered as the wife of the miller Dempewolff at Thran. That places a named miller at Thran in December 1805, thirty-three years before this family's own Thran tenancy appears in the Kemnade register. Worth following: the Thran mill's holders between 1805 and 1832 are undocumented in this project. > > Two readings are unresolved. Godparent 1's trade reads Nebenkrüger on the letterforms but is not a standard term. Godparent 2's place, written i. Lüße(?), is plainly not Linse — the clerk writes Linse in line one of this same entry and the two words are formed differently.
