Transcript

Uncertain readings are marked [?] or set in brackets; words that could not be read are marked as such. Each transcript is shown as written, with its transcriber’s notes.

R16. Halle marriages 390644 (1629–1711), the gaps — step ID R16

Checked first. Closed Steps B3.22a (Bild 6–30, 1629–1680, "Bild 21–24 faded") and B3.22 (Bild 31–49); Prior-Research-Combined [11] says the volume was read in full on 13 Sep 2026 for Wasmann forms. Gaps taken: Bild 1–5, 21–24 and 50–54.

Read. Bild 1–5 (binding, labels), 21–24 at 2.5x–4x, 50–54 at 2.5x–4x.

Result. Bild 1–5: binding labels, no entries (negative, legible). Bild 21: a pastor's note page, no marriages. Bild 22: negative for the target names (re-read in R22: left page heading 1653, right page 1654 and 1655; one new Linse miller's-lad entry). Bild 23: two Wasmus-type entries (see table), found in the faded range that the prior read marked as faded. Bild 24: negative (a Linse mill-hand and a miller's son, no surname match). Bild 50–53: negative apart from known entries (David Wäsman of Dohnsen, Jan 1710, bride unnamed, Bild 52, confirmed; Roggen of Linse 7 Nov 1710 confirmed); "Bruns" (Bild 50) and "Brau-/Brüns" (Bild 53) read apart from Brand. Bild 54: the Bild 53 spread again, with the "Ende" slate; end of the register.

Proposed tier. Bild 23 entries: STATED for the words, surname doubtful, POSSIBLE for a Wasman link. Conflicts. The Closed Steps note "Wasman marriages 1662–1675" does not mention a 1657 Wasmus entry; this is a gap in the working files, not a conflict. Images. Bild 23 (both entries): image to save. New steps. R18 (below).

R16 — 390644 (Trauungen 1629–1711) Bild 21–22 (read 24 Oct 2026, whole-page zoom ~2.5x, faded-range recheck)

  • Bild 21: pastor's personal page (prayer/confirmation note, water stain, loose sheet). No marriage entries. Result: negative (no marriage entries; hand legible).
  • Bild 22 left page, entries read as written [doubtful]: "Den 16 Augusti Ist Herman Meyer von Borgen [doubtful] ... mit J. Ilse [doubtful] Fechken von Crepke, alhie zu Halle getrauwet" (Herman Meyer of Borgen? and Ilse Fechken of Crepke, married here at Halle). "Den 8 Novemb. Ist ... [doubtful] ... mit Jf. Maria ... alhie ... getrauwet." "Den 21 Novemb. Ist Heinrich Höfer [doubtful] ... mit Catharina ..." (lower right of left page smudged).
  • Bild 22 right page: "Den 10 Octob. Ist Henrich Bücher [doubtful] von Tuns [doubtful] ... und Jf. Catharina ... von Bodenwerder [doubtful]"; year heading "Anno M.D.C.L. [doubtful]"; "Den 20 Jan. Ist Johan Rickta [doubtful] von Halle getrauwet mit Anna Stellinck [doubtful]"; "Den 23 Jul. Ist Johan Meyer mit Brendeln [doubtful] ... alhie getrauwet"; "Den 20 Nov. Ist Bertold Holscher [doubtful] von Hunnes [doubtful] mit ... Friedens von Crepke".
  • Result: no Wasman/Wesemann/Brand/Küster/Sporleder-type name. Negative, hand legible on the entries read; the smudged lower left is partially legible only.
  • Tier: none (no hit). Image to save: none.

R16 — 390644 Bild 23 (read 24 Oct 2026, 2.5x–4x, left page faded/struck-through, right page legible)

  • Left page, top: entries of the year before the heading, e.g. "Den 22 Octob. ... [doubtful]", "Den 30 Octob. Ist Hans Fraste [doubtful] von Brunen [doubtful] ... Catharina Lechsten [doubtful] ... aus Halle". Then a year heading "Anno M.DC.LVII [doubtful, struck through by later crossing lines]" = 1657, then two cancelled (struck-through) entries, then "Den 7 Jan. ... [doubtful] ... Catharina ..." and:
... Wulfsorgt [doubtful] Uhr ... Schäffer [doubtful] ... mit Margareta Wasmus [doubtful: Wasmuß/Wasmans] auf Linsen [doubtful: Lingen] Jesu [doubtful] ... "
  • English: On 9 April [1657?], [groom, name partly illegible] ... was married in church here at Halle ... with Margareta Wasmus of Linse(n) [doubtful].
  • Result: FOUND (surname form "Wasmus", not "Wasman"; rule 0.6: a read for one surname is not a read for another). The groom's name is illegible (ink blot and faded hand).
  • Tier: STATED for the words read on the draft screen; POSSIBLE for a Wasman/Waßmann family link (place "Linse" matches the 1605 "Curt Waßmans von Linse" entry in burial Bild 65, but the place reading "Linsen/Lingen" is doubtful).
  • Image to save: 390644 Bild 23, left page foot (9 April entry). Archion download not made (standing rule).
  • Right page, "Eodem" entry after "Den 13 Octobris": "Den 13 Octobris Hanß Müller bey Lüchtringen? [doubtful] mit Anna Margareta aus Dornsen? [doubtful], Davids Notans? [doubtful] des Vogts daselbsten Tochter. / Eodem Hanß Wasmuß? [doubtful: Wastung/Wasmus] bey Dornsen [doubtful: Dohnsen] mit Margaretha Lohmans? [doubtful] bey Ester? [doubtful: Eschershausen?]"
  • English: On the same day Hans Wasmus(?) near/of Dohnsen(?) with Margaretha Lohmans(?) of [place doubtful].
  • Result: FOUND, doubtful surname. Tier: STATED (words read, surname [doubtful]); POSSIBLE for family link. Year not yet fixed from this page (the same register hand continues; year to be taken from the next heading on Bild 24+).
  • Other right-page entries (no hit): "Den 6 Octobris ... Herzog Augusti Leibcompagnie mit Jfr. ... Albrecht von Tuchfelde? [doubtful] ... in der Capell copulirt worden"; "Den 20 Octobris Hanß Müller, Henrich Müllers bey Tuchfelde? Sohn, mit Jfr. ... Hüfner? ..., Henrich Magers aus Dornsen ... für einige Jahre ... verwiesen? ... hinterlassener Tochter"; "Den 10 Novemb. Wilbrand Mayer, Müller auf der Thraß? [doubtful] mit Catharina, Joh. ... Tochter aus Dornsen"; "Den 16 Novemb. Hanß Schwanberg? der Bauer aus dem Amt Grohnde mit Anna Abermart? ... aus dem Amt Münden ..."; "Den 17 Novemb. Hanß Oettmer? ... von Osterwald? aus dem Amt Lauenstein?" [all doubtful, not Wasman-type].

R16 — 390644 Bild 24 (read 24 Oct 2026, 2.5x–3x; both pages in one clear 1660s hand)

  • Right page (margin note "7 Octob. 1664 ..." [doubtful] on its left edge): "d. 8 Februarii ... Hanß Müller zu Dohnsen ... [with a remark of the pastor: 'Gott gebe diesem Mann besser Glück bei ihr, als seinem Bruder ...' (a brother whose first marriage ended in beheading at Wolfenbüttel) — doubtful, partly read]"; "d. 12 Aprilis [Dimey?] Otto, Meister Henrich Pfüngraf? [doubtful] der Stadt Halle Zimmermeister Sohn, mit Dorothea ..., Henrich Mengers? [doubtful] hinterl. Tochter aus Dohnsen"; "d. 9 Maij Curd Flöter? [doubtful: Fleter/Flöther] Müllenknecht zu Linse mit Jfr. Ilsabe Dreiherd? [doubtful] des Müllenmeisters Stieftochter zu Dohnsen ... [verb phrase: he had previously been working in the mill / 'in der Mühle zu Dohnsen']"; "d. 28 Junij der ehrenveste, Großachtbare und Manhafte Hr. Henrich Mey[er?] ... fürstl. Braunschw.-Lüneb. Forstschreiber ... mit der ... Jfr. Catharina Timaler? [doubtful], des Wohlehrwürdigen ... Herrn M. Georg Wichmann sel., gewesenen Superintendenten zu Halle hinterlassener Tochter [Witwe? doubtful]"; "d. 12 Julij Hanß Lobsett? [doubtful] des alten Müllermeisters Sohn mit Margareta, Henrich Dreyland? Tochter aus Dohnsen"; "d. 26 Septembris Henning Steinhain, Henrich Steinhains des Schäfers Sohn zu Wegensen, mit Anna, Henrich Hoffmanns Tochter von Hemmen bei Ohsen".
  • Mill-related: "Curd Flöter Müllenknecht zu Linse" and "Hanß Lobsett des alten Müllermeisters Sohn" (a miller's son; which mill not stated; the surnames are doubtful).
  • Left page: upper entries read at 2.5x (e.g. "d. 29 Junij Hanß Albrecht bey Tuchtfeld(?) ... mit Jfr. ... Tochter"). Lower two-thirds of the left page blank.
  • Result: no Wasman/Wesemann/Brand/Küster/Sporleder entry (hand legible; the left page's upper lines at 2.5x only, doubtful names). Negative for the name families. Not a mill-owner link. Tier: none.
  • Note: Closed Steps B3.22a already read Bild 6–30; Bild 24 is legible, not faded, so this is a confirmation read.

R16 — 390644 Bild 1–5 (read 24 Oct 2026, opening zoom)

  • Bild 1: binding spine label "Halle 1629–". Bild 2: black slate "Anfang". Bild 3: blank. Bild 4: loose title slip in a later hand: "Kirchenbuch Halle, enthaltend Getraute 1629–1711 (b. August 1634)" [doubtful: the bracket reads "(b. August 1634)" or "(v. August 1634)"]. Bild 5: parchment binding fragment (Latin text) and a label "Copulati 1629–1711".
  • Result: no marriage entries in Bild 1–5 (hand/type legible). Negative, confirmed. The first entries begin at Bild 6 (already read: Closed Steps B3.22a). Tier: none.

R16 — 390644 Bild 50–51 (read 24 Oct 2026, 2.5x–3x, legible 1700s hand; Prior-Research-Combined [11] says 390644 was read in full 13 Sep 2026, so this is a re-check)

  • Bild 50, left page (partly read): "d. 5 8bris [5 Oct.] Hanß Jacob Meyer, Bürger allhie, Curd Meyers [Bürgers?] ehel. Sohn, mit Jfr. Dorothea Sagebiel, Henrich Sagebiels ehel. Tochter von Dohnsen"; right page: "Den 12 Jul. Hanß Henrich Ahrens? [doubtful] Köther und Schäfer zu Dohnsen mit Maria Mollhart? [doubtful] Hanß Mollhards Leibzüchters zu Dohnsen ehel. Tochter"; "Den 23 Jul. Herman Meyer, Henrich Meyers zu Halle ehel. Sohn, des Leinewebers [doubtful] von Dohnsen [doubtful], mit Jfr. Anna Catharina Bruns [Brunß; B-r-u-n-ß, NOT Brand], weil. Christoph Bruns Köthers in Halle nachgel. Tochter." Reading: STATED for the words read at 3x; not a Brand entry (the final -ns and ß are clear, no d).
  • Bild 51, left page: "... mit Jfr. Catharina [Schnecken? doubtful], weil. Hanß Sanders von Dassel? nachgel. Wittwe"; "d. 27 Nov. Curd Sievers, Müller und Großköther zu Tuchtfeld, mit Jungfer Ilsen Catharinen Hohnemann [doubtful], weil. Hans Hohnemanns Erbmann in Tuchtfeld nachgel. ehel. Tochter" (a Tuchtfeld miller, not Linse); "d. 29 Nov. Hanß [R/Kr]eggen [doubtful: Roggen] Junggeselle von Linse, Clauß [R]eggens ehel. Sohn, mit Jfr. ... [doubtful], Hanß [Gr...] von Dohnsen ehel. Tochter" (a Linse bachelor; cf. Hinrich Herman Roggen of Linse 1710, Bild 52).
  • Bild 51, right page: "Den 27 Maij Herman Henrich Schütten?, Herman Schüttens zu Halle ehel. Sohn, mit Jfr. Anna Maria Bock?, Henrich Bocks Weißländer? Einliegers in Tuchtfeld nachgel. Tochter"; "Den 8 Sbr. Henrich Jürgen Meyer, Leinweber aus dem Brock, [copulirt] mit Jfr. Anna Catharina Hömann? [doubtful], Henning Gömeß? von Kirchmissen? nachgel. Tochter"; "Den 15 Sbr. Henrich Thomas Warneke, Junggeselle, Johann Warnecken von Brüggen? ehel. Sohn, mit Jfr. Anna Margareta Sander, Hanß Sanders zu Tuchtfeld ehel. Tochter"; "d. 17 Sbr. Henrich Herman Bock, Junggeselle, Herman Bocks zu Wegensen ehel. Sohn, mit Jfr. Anna Margaretha Wiehna? [doubtful], Henrich Fochhans? zu Halle Tochter." (Years not on the lines; 1707–1709 by the volume order.)
  • Result (Bild 50–51): no Wasman/Wesemann/Brand/Küster/Sporleder-type surname. Sagebiel (a Linse mill-family name) appears as a Dohnsen bride's family (Bild 50, left). Negative for the target names, hand legible. Tier: none.

R16 — 390644 Bild 52 (read 24 Oct 2026, 2.5x–3x; already read 13 Sep 2026, Prior-Research-Combined [11]: re-check)

  • Left page (printed p. 94 [doubtful]): "d. 22 8br. Johan [Ludwig?] Köhner, Junggeselle, Hanß Köhners, Bürgers ... [doubtful], ehel. Sohn, mit Jfr. Anna Ilse Knüll, Johan Knülls ehel. Tochter" (Knüll is a Linse mill-family name in the working files; place of this Knüll not stated on the lines read); "d. 5 Novembr. Henrich Schlüter? [doubtful: Schön…], Müllner [miller] und Krüger alhier zu Halle, mit Jfr. Anna Gajners? [doubtful: Gaßners], Hanß Gajners nachgel. ehel. Tochter" (a Halle miller and innkeeper; which mill not stated); "d. 7 Novemb. Hinrich Herman Roggen von Linse mit Anna Maria Falcken von Dohnsen, Hanß Henrich Falcken Tochter. Diese haben ein Bekenntnis [verb doubtful] von der Kirchenbuße [doubtful] ... lassen."
  • Right page (printed p. 48 [doubtful]): heading "Ann. 1710." "d. Januar. David Wäsman zu Doenßen mit [blank] von Bremken." (the bride's name is left blank in the register; place Bremke; STATED, matches the earlier Prior-Research read, no conflict). "d. 27 Febr. Jacob Hußmann? [doubtful: Heißmann] aus Doenßen, Wittwer und Reußkräutiger? [doubtful], mit Anna Rosina Sabin, Herman Sabins aus Doen[ßen] ehel. Tochter." "d. 22 May David Meyer zu Doenßen, Curd Meyers aus dem Zimmerbrink? ehel. Sohn, mit Elisabeth Albrechts, Hanß Albrechts zu Doenßen Tochter. Diese haben ein Bekenntnis vor der Kirchenbuße? [doubtful] lassen." "d. 17 Jun. Henrich Hoizen? zu Halle jun. mit Anna Maria Sabin, weil. Johan Sabins von Grünen? nachgel. ehel. Tochter." "d. 15 Jul. Christoph Salmajer? [doubtful] von ... mit Anna Catharina Bock, weil. Henrich Bocks Weyl.? alhier in Halle nachgel. ehel. Tochter." "d. 27 Sept. Hanß Selfus? [doubtful] zu Halle, Junggeselle, mit Jfr. Margareta Meyers, weil. Herman Meyers, Altarist? u. Köthers in Halle nachgel. Tochter."
  • Result: FOUND (known): David Wäsman of Dohnsen, January 1710, bride unnamed (of Bremke). No new Wasman-type name. Roggen of Linse 7 Nov 1710 matches Prior-Research-Combined. Tier: STATED for the entry, already graded.

R16 — 390644 Bild 53 (read 24 Oct 2026, 2.5x–4x; legible 1710s hand)

  • Left page (printed p. 94/95 [doubtful]): "d. 22 8br. Hanß Jacob Schütten, Jacob Schüttens des alten Königs? [doubtful] zu Dohnsen ehel. Sohn, mit Jfr. Anna Margareta Meyers, Henrich Meyers Zeitmanns? [doubtful] zu Halle ehel. Tochter"; "d. 30 8br. [Der alte Schäfer? doubtful] Meyer zu Dohnsen mit ... Glasmeisterin? Magd von der Glashütte ... über 6 Jahr sich in Dohnsen aufgehalten"; "d. 4 Novemb. Joß Heinrich Ri[e]dam? [doubtful] von Greipßen? [doubtful] mit Jfr. Anna Elsabe Brau[n]m[ann]? [doubtful], weil. Henrich Everhard Brau[...]mann? [doubtful] zu Börnig? [doubtful] nachgel. ehel. Tochter." — not read as Brand (the clause has Bra-u/n, no -d- clear; surname doubtful, possible Braumann/Braunmann). Heading "1711." then "Den 27 Januar. Ludwig [Heinrich?] [doubtful], Dragoner unter dem Baron Capitain von Timbeck? Compagnie, [Hannov.?] Regiment, mit Jfr. Catharina Brüns? [doubtful], weil. Carl Bruns? [doubtful], Barbierers? in Halle ehel. Tochter."
  • Right page, headed "Copul. 1711." and printed p. 49: "Den 23 Jul. Meister Johan Philip Messing, Meister Georg Nicolaus Messing weil. Nachrichter in Eimbeck ehel. Sohn, mit Jungfer Anna Elisabeth Kunzhausen, Meister Henning Kunzhausen, bürgl. Nachrichter allhier zu Halle nachgel. ehel. Tochter"; "Den 27 Jul. Johan Müller, ein Bursch von Bremke [doubtful], Hanß Müllers zu Dohnsen ehel. Sohn, der Krüger Eimmel? [doubtful], mit Anna Margaretha Oppermann, Curd Oppermanns weyl. Schafmeisters zu Wallensen nachgel. ehel. Tochter. Diese haben ein Bekenntnis vor der Kirchenbuße lassen, indem die Mensch über die Zeit gravida"; "Den 13 Aug. [name illegible: ...berg] Junggeselle ... [entry runs on the next page / struck?]"; at the foot a pasted note in a different hand: "[Die] Personen so folgen sind in dem [verbrannten?] Buche zu finden" [doubtful: "Die Personen, so folgen, sind in dem gebrandten Buche zu finden"].
  • Result: no Wasman/Wesemann/Brand/Küster/Sporleder-type name. Negative, hand legible; two doubtful Brü-/Brau- surnames noted so they are not mistaken for Brand. Tier: none.

R16 — 390644 Bild 54 (24 Oct 2026)

  • Bild 54 (last of 54): the viewer shows the Bild 53 spread (1711, p. 49, last entries) again, now with the black "Ende" slate above it; no further entries. Result: end of register confirmed; no entries after the 13 Aug [1711] line and the pasted note on Bild 53. Tier: none.

R16 summary — 390644 gaps (24 Oct 2026)

  • Bild 1–5: binding and labels, no entries. Bild 21: pastor's note page (no marriages). Bild 22–24: read (22 and 23 faded on the left pages, 24 clear). Bild 50–54: read (re-check of Prior-Research-Combined [11]).
  • Hits: Bild 23 left foot "Margareta Wasmus auf Linsen" (9 April, year heading 1657, doubtful) and Bild 23 right "Hanß Wasmuß bey Dohnsen" (13 Oct, year not on the page lines, doubtful). Both need a second reader/VERIFY; "Wasmus" is also the given name Erasmus (cf. Chapter-2-Transcripts "Wasmus Spörlen zu Halle"), so the surname reading is doubtful.

R16b — 390644 Bild 23, close re-read of the two Wasmus-type entries (24 Oct 2026, 4x)

  • Right page, "Eodem" entry (after "Den 13 Octobris Hanß Müller ... Davids Notans des Vogts daselbsten Tochter"): "Eodem Hanß Wasmuß [doubtful: the underlined word reads W-a-ß/s-m-u-ß or -a-y; could be Wasman] bey Dornsen [Dohnsen] mit Margaretha Cölmans?/Hölmans? [doubtful] bey Ester? [doubtful: Esperde? / Eschershausen?]." The page lines carry no year. The sequence puts the right page after the left page's heading M.DC.LVII, so 1657 is likely but not stated for this entry; the entry of 6 Oct on the same page names "Herzog Augusti Leibcompagnie" (Duke August, d. 1666), which fits 1657 but does not prove it. The foot of the right page carries a tally line "Summa hoc anno 12 pares [doubtful]" (12 couples), read at the foot with the year not stated.
  • Left page foot (9 April entry): read at 4x earlier this session; the surname reads "Wasmus" with the final letters clear at the line end; the place reads "Linsen/Lingen" (the -n- and -s- strokes ambiguous). No further improvement possible at the viewer's usable zoom (tiles blur above about 5x).
  • Result of the close re-read: both readings stay [doubtful]. Tier: STATED for the words as read (doubtful surname); POSSIBLE for a Wasman-family link; "Wasmus" is also the given name Erasmus, which could make the left-page line "Margareta, [daughter of] Wasmus of Linse".
  • Images to save: 390644 Bild 23, both spreads (left page foot; right page "Eodem" line). Archion download not made (standing rule; subscription ends 2 Nov 2026).

R22.9 390644 (Trauungen 1629-1711) Bild 22, both pages (closed)

  • Read how: viewer about 4x, top to foot of both pages, zoom captures. All lines legible at this zoom; the "faded" lines of the earlier read were read in full except where marked.
  • Left page (p.36), heading "ANNO M.DC.LIII" [1653]; the year of every entry below is 1653:
  • 16 May: "Jürgen Rotte[n]burg? [doubtful] aus Braun[schweig?] [doubtful] und Anna Scharenberg, sel. Cord Springs? [doubtful] von Halle nachgelassene Wittwe, alhier zu Halle ehelich copuliert."
  • 6 [Jun?]: "Hans Eicken [doubtful], Müllerbursche? [doubtful] zu Linsen, und Anna Catharina von Linsen, so Kinder gezeugt haben, sich über der Zeit verfahren [vergangen?], haben öffentliche Kirchenbuße abgestattet und ihre Kinder [..]" (a Linse miller's lad and his partner, married after church penance; not in any earlier table: Hans Eicken [Eichen?] at Linse, 1653, a mill-type entry; surname doubtful).
Maria Sperhold? [doubtful] aus Halle, alhie ordentlich getrauwet."
  • 21 Nov: "Henning Höger? [doubtful] [..] mit Catharina [..] Henning Wilkes? [doubtful] Vid.[ua] getrauwet."
  • Foot: "Copulatorum anno 1653 fuere [5?] paria" [doubtful numeral]; five entries stand above it, so five pairs.
  • Right page (p.37), heading "ANNO M.DC.LIV" [1654] (the earlier read "M.D.C.L" is corrected): 11 April "Cord Müllmeyer [doubtful] zu Halle mit [..] [..], getrauwet"; 31 May? [doubtful] "Marcus Hallmann zu Linse mit Jf. Maria Wolf? [doubtful] alhie getrauwet"; 3 Sept [..] [faded]; 10 Oct "Henrich Bücher? [doubtful] von Tuchtfeld mit Jf. Catharina Landings? [doubtful] von Dörnsen"; then a second heading "ANNO M.DC.LV" [1655]: 29 Jan "Johan Ricka? [doubtful] von Halle getrauwet mit Anna Stellinck [doubtful]"; 23 July "Hans Mayer aus Brunsen? bürtig mit Catharina Wetwig? [doubtful] zu Halle alhie getrauwet" (with a line on church penance); 20 Nov "Bertold Boscher? [doubtful] von Dörnsen mit Jf. Ursula? [..] von Crepke"; 27 Nov "Diederich Hilbrand? [doubtful] von Dörnsen mit [..] Cüdelnard? [doubtful] von Dörnsen"; foot summary line "[..] 5 [..]".
  • Wasman/Wasmann/Waßmann/Wasmus: none on either page. Proposed tier: none (negative, legible). Conflicts with working files: the earlier R16 year-less list for the left page (16 Aug, 8 Nov, 21 Nov) now carries 1653; the right-page heading "Anno M.D.C.L" in R16 is corrected to M.DC.LIV.

R22.10 390644 Bild 23, both pages (closed except the struck-through 7 Jan entry)

  • Read how: viewer about 4x, top to foot of both pages, zoom captures. Left page: the top third holds a struck-through heading and a struck-through entry (cancelled by cross-hatching); the rest is legible.
  • Left page (p.38): top lines: "[..] Catharina Lee? [doubtful] [..] zu Halle" (end of the 1655 entries). Heading "ANNO M.DC.LVII" [1657] cancelled by cross-hatching (reads "A[nn]o M.DC.LVII" through the strokes; [doubtful]; the 1656 entries are therefore on the last lines of p.37 or the top of this page). Then the struck-through entry "Den 7 Jan[uarii] ... [..] mit ... Catharina ... [Haynen?] ..." (cancelled; not legible). Below it, legible: "Den 9 April ist [..] [..] ... alhie zu Halle [..], wegen [..] Marsenberge? [doubtful: Marienburg/Marsenburg] mit allem Gut nach [..] ... [..] Hans ... [..] Christoph? Walther? [doubtful] von Dörnsen? [doubtful] [..] mit Margaretha Wasmus [auß] Lingen [or Linsen, doubtful] ... [copuliert?]". "Wasmus" reads letter by letter W-a-s-m-u-s, no ß; the place is "Lingen" or "Linsen" ([doubtful]). Year 1657 by the heading above ([doubtful] because the heading is cancelled).
  • Right page (p.39), no heading on the page; the sequence follows the 1657 heading on the left page, so the year is 1657 [doubtful]:
  • 13 Octobris: "Hanß Müller bey Lingen? [doubtful: Linsen] mit Anna Margaretha auß Dornsen, David Natans? [doubtful] [..] [..] Tochter." (a miller at or by Linse; the surname Müller is a trade name here.)
  • "Eodem Hanß Wasmuß [clear letters; underlined] bey Dornsen mit Margaretha Colmans? [doubtful] von Ester? [doubtful]." — same day, same register; reads "Wasmuß" with the ß-form of the final s (earlier R16: "Wasmuß [doubtful]").
  • 20 Octobris: "Hanß Müller, Henrich Müllers bey Tuchtfelde Sohn, mit Jf. Ilsen Pagards? [doubtful], Henrich Magnus aus Dornsen, welcher für einigen Jahren zu Wolfenbüttel decolliret worden, hinterlassener Tochter." (a miller's son of Tuchtfeld; a father beheaded at Wolfenbüttel [doubtful].)
— a Knüll-mill entry (Knüll Grunde / Knüll Mühle) not listed before. Names doubtful; the mill is clear.
  • Wasmus reads: two (9 April and 13 Oct), both Wasmus/Wasmuß; the 13 Oct "Hanß Wasmuß bey Dornsen" and the 9 April "Margaretha Wasmus" are the only Wasmus-type forms in 390644. By rule 0.6 a Wasmus read is not a Wasman read. The year of the 13 Oct entry rests on the heading sequence. Proposed tier: POSSIBLE for any link to the Wasman family; STATED for the words. Conflicts: R16 had "Margareta Wasmus auf Linsen [doubtful]" for 9 Apr and "Hanß Wasmuß bey Dornsen mit Margaretha [Cölmans?] bey Ester?" for 13 Oct: confirmed, with Colmans? and Ester? still doubtful.
  • Not closed: the cancelled 7 Jan entry on the left page (cross-hatched) and the groom's name of 9 April. New step R21.

Addendum: F448, F449.

Grade: Screen draft; entries as marked.
