Translation (English)

6\. The widower Johann Ernst Friedrich Seebaum, master miller and [tenant?] … [origin unread] … and the widow Caroline Louise Brandt, née Wesemann, surviving widow of the late carpenter and day labourer of this place [Heinrich?] Friedrich Wilhelm Brandt, and the surviving lawful daughter of the late master miller Heinrich Wesemann at Linse and his likewise deceased wife Christine née Küster. Banns at Bodenwerder and Halle on the 15th and 26th Sunday after Trinity (16 and 23 Nov.). Married here on 24 Nov. [1823].

Notes

Her parents are stated: the late master miller Heinrich Wesemann of Linse and Christine née Küster (the clerk's "Heinrich" is a short form of Johann Heinrich). No age and no birth date are given, so the entry does not decide between 15 December 1785 (Heinade burial, D156) and 6 January 1789 (Halle baptism of 11 January 1789). Her first husband Brandt, a carpenter and day labourer of Bodenwerder, was dead by 1823. The banns were also read at Halle (the Halle 1823 banns might give an age; not searched).

Grade: Stated for the parents (draft reading at maximum zoom; the first lines are dense and partly unread).

Conventions

[ ] editorial addition or expansion; [?] uncertain reading; [...] or […] illegible or outside the crop; [sic] as written. Spelling, capitals and abbreviations follow the register. Draft reading, not yet checked against the image by a second person unless noted.

Notes

Bild 198, right page, p. 403, no. 6. Draft; the scan limits some words. "Zimmermanns und Tagelöhners" is clear: the 1823 clerk wrote that trade, against Lohgerbermeister in 1814 and 1818 (Decided, Paul, 14 October 2026: Lohgerbermeister is kept; this entry is a later conflicting statement). Grade: STATED for Seebaum, Brandt, Wesemann, Küster and the 1823 trade; POSSIBLE for Seebaum's origin and his mother's surname.

Notes

The word before "Hildesheim" is the tail of "Fürsten-thum"; the village is the word after "gebürtig," first letters Am-, about seven letters, not legible at this scan. The mother's surname begins with L (not R). Grade: the principality STATED; village and mother's surname POSSIBLE.
