Thran is not mentioned

The entry names Linse three times and Thran not once.

  • The groom is angeh. Halbmeier zu Linse and son of the half-farmer daselbst, of the same place.
  • The bride’s father is Maschinenmüller Georg Ludewig Wesemann zu Linse.

That is the grandfather, at the Linse mill, in June 1846. It is not the Thran household. Georg Ludewig held the middle mill; his son Heinrich Christian Ludewig held Thran as tenant from 1832. This entry places the grandfather where he always was and says nothing at all about the son.

So the 1846 marriage does not close the 1832 to 1846 gap. It documents the Linse household during it, and leaves the Thran household as silent as before.

What the entry does establish

  • Georg Ludewig Wesemann was alive in June 1846. No weiland or verstorbenen stands before his name, where one does stand before his wife’s. He died 29 December 1855.
  • He is styled Maschinenmüller in 1846. That is the styling used in his lifetime, against Mühlenmeister and Maßmüller in the entries made after his death, and Mittelmüller in 1804. Add to the title sequence.
  • The bride’s mother is given as Anna Marie Küster. This is the outlier the project already carries: the 1803 marriage and the 1861 death give Justine Marie, the 1832 and 1858 marriages give Marie Justine, and this entry alone gives Anna Marie. It is a clerk’s variant forty-three years after her marriage and eleven years after her death, and it must be footnoted rather than reconciled.
  • The groom’s mother is given as Luise geb. Sporleder. The 1847 death entries give her as Marie Caroline Charlotte née Sporleder, and her daughter’s 1809 baptism gives Caroline Charlotte. The death entries are the better witnesses; this forename is the outlier and is footnoted the same way.
  • The groom is angehender Halbmeier — incoming half-farmer. He was taking over the Linse Nr. ass. 1 holding at marriage, exactly as his brother-in-law had been angehender Maschinenmühlenmeister at Thran fourteen years earlier. The register uses the same word for both successions.
  • Banns on three Sundays and the marriage at Halle, which is where this family’s marriages of 1804, 1832 and 1858 were also solemnised.
