Transcript and translation

Uncertain readings are marked [?] or set in brackets; words that could not be read are marked as such. Each transcript is shown as written, with its transcriber’s notes.

Transcription (German)

Translation (English)

9\. Linse, on 27 April […] at 4 in the afternoon, died Franz Heinr. Brand, [word not read], of a catarrh of the chest, and was buried on the 30th of the same month, Misericordias Domini Sunday, aged 70 years and 6 weeks.

Notes

Born about March 1705. Misericordias Domini fell on 30 April in 1775 (Easter 16 April), so date and Sunday agree.

The word after his name (Halbmeier?) is unread.

Grade: Stated (draft reading); his identity with the Franz Brand of F41 probable.

Conventions

[ ] editorial addition or expansion; [?] uncertain reading; [...] or […] illegible or outside the crop; [sic] as written. Spelling, capitals and abbreviations follow the register. Draft reading, not yet checked against the image by a second person unless noted.
