Geburt: Der neunte October, Nachmittags zwei Uhr. Taufe: Der zwanzigste October. Kind: (Tochter) Wilhelmine Dorothea Luise. Taufzeugen: 1) Wilhelmine Brand aus Linse, der Mutter Schwester; 2) Dorothea Wachsmann(?), des [Berufsbezeichnung unklar] Wachsmann(?), aus Linse; beide unverheirathet.

English translation: 14. Father: Wesemann (underlined in the original), Heinrich Christian Ludewig, mill tenant (Mühlenpächter) at Thran. Mother: Hanne Caroline Wilhelmine, née Brand, twenty-four years old. Birth: the ninth of October, two o’clock in the afternoon. Baptism: the twentieth of October. Child: (daughter) Wilhelmine Dorothea Luise. Godparents: 1) Wilhelmine Brand of Linse, the mother’s sister; 2) Dorothea Wachsmann(?), [daughter] of the [trade unread] Wachsmann(?), of Linse; both unmarried.

> Note: the mother’s stated age fits her birth on 16 July 1809 exactly — she turned twenty-four three months before this birth. This is the earliest Kemnade baptism yet found for the household, five years before the emigrant’s own. Godparent 1 is entered as der Mutter Schwester, which names a maternal aunt not otherwise documented in this project: a Wilhelmine Brand of Linse, sister of Johanne Caroline Wilhelmine Brand and so a further daughter of Heinrich Christian Brand and Caroline Charlotte Sporleder. > > Note on the child: Wilhelmine Dorothea Luise has no further record in this project. No death, marriage or godparent appearance has been searched for her.
