Baptism: Johann Heinrich, Linse, 29 March 1726 (godfather Joh. Heinrich Brand, Franz Brand's son?)

Transcript and translation

Uncertain readings are marked [?] or set in brackets; words that could not be read are marked as such. Each transcript is shown as written, with its transcriber’s notes.

Transcription (German)

[...] Linse d. 29. Mart. [...] Gevattern: [...] Joh. Heinrich Brand, Franz Brands Sohn[?] [...]. Nom: Johann Heinrich.

Translation (English)

Linse, 29 March [1726]. [Father not read.] Godparents include Johann Heinrich Brand, son of Franz Brand[?]. Name: Johann Heinrich.

Notes

My read of the sponsor line is not secure; the 1720s hand is dense and run on. Lead only.

If right, a Franz Brand had an adult or near-adult son by 1726, so the Franz Brand of 1736–1770 may be a second generation of the name.

Grade: Unproven (insecure read).

Conventions

[ ] editorial addition or expansion; [?] uncertain reading; [...] illegible or outside the crop; [sic] as written. Spelling, capitals and abbreviations follow the register. Draft reading from screen-resolution images, not yet checked by a person.

Notes

The entry is on Bild 100, right page, header "1726", not Bild 120 (Bild 120 shows October to December 1730): the file is renamed. The father's name after "Brand," begins with G, not F, and has no -z: it is not Franz. Grade: STATED for "Johan Hinrich Brand ... filius"; POSSIBLE for "Gerd".
