Plain reading. Arthur Harold Squitieri, Electrician's Mate Third Class, U.S. Naval Reserve, service number 822 23 58, was wounded on 6 June 1944 aboard the landing craft USS LCT 593. The Commander, U.S. Naval Forces in Europe, awarded him the Purple Heart; the medal, citation and ribbon bar were sent on 3 November 1944 to the medical officer in command of the U.S. Naval Hospital at Chelsea, Massachusetts.
Notes. The card the step sought, Anthony Squitiere's, is not in this unit: no Squitiere, Squiteri or Squitieri, Anthony stands between card 55 (Squires) and card 56 (Squitieri, Arthur), nor after card 56 (record negative, cards 52–57). Arthur Harold Squitieri is probably the Neville Island Seaman of the Pennsylvania casualty summary set aside in Closed Paths D5 (Chapter 10 [144]); not of the family.
