"Daviel Knoll, Viehhändler dahier, wurde am Freitag den [29ten] Neun und zwanzigsten [Septbr.] [Tagesanbruch?] in einer Wiese bei [Rü...grün?] tod gefunden und nachgeschehener gerichtlichen Besichtigung, durch welche sich herausstellte, daß er im Wasser ertrunken ist, am Samstag den 30 Septbr. Vormittags mit einer Einsegnung beerdigt. Er war geboren zu [—]. Alt: 71 Jahr."
English translation
David Knoll, cattle dealer here, was found dead in a meadow near [place not read] on Friday 29 September [1837] at daybreak [?]; the official inspection found that he had drowned; he was buried on Saturday 30 September in the forenoon with a blessing. Born at [blank]. Aged 71.
Notes
29 September 1837 was a Friday. Age 71 gives a birth about 1766. Christian David Knoll is a cattle dealer [doubtful] in his wife's burial of 1824 (F250), used the single name David in 1821 (F252), and had no "verstorbenen" before his name at his son's wedding of April 1830 (F249): PROBABLE that this is he.
