Transcriber’s notes

George’s parents are both given as born in Prussia, German-speaking. Earlier records place his father in the Duchy of Brunswick (1866 marriage; 1870 census) and his mother in Württemberg. “Prussia” is probably the 1920 informant’s generalisation for Germany and is not evidence of Prussian origin.

Mary’s mother is also given as Prussia; Caroline Weiss was from Ochsenburg, Württemberg.

The children’s ages fit the family Bible: Ruth (Dec. 1908), Naomi (Oct. 1911), Foster (Nov. 1913), Elmer (Nov. 1918).

Grade: PRIMARY.
