Translation (English)
[14 May 1775:] Jo. Simon Brünig, the upper miller, and Marie Louise Linnenberg, a son (born 9 May …); [sponsors Just Falke and the wife of Jo. Tobias[?] Eickhof, both of Linse]; named Johann Heinrich
Notes
Simon Brünig is the named "Obermüller" of Linse from May 1775 to November 1777 and dead by 18 August 1778 (his widow is a sponsor); with the 1774 marriage (D860) and the 1778 burial (F67) the upper mill's tenant is settled for 1774–1778. The son born 8 November 1777 is the Johann Christoph Ludewig buried with his father in April 1778. "Obermüller" is not unique to Linse: the Halle Jo. Heinr. Brünig's wife is "des Obermüllers" in January 1776, and Johann Erhard Dempewulf is called [Ober]müller in March 1776 (Bild 57 no. 7), so the word needs a village beside it. The Halle Klippmüller Jo. Heinr. Brünig (1777; "Klipmüllers" also in 1771, Transcripts) fits the Klippmühle of Halle named in 1803 (F324); his relation to Simon is not stated. "Thran" reads clearly in Kentel's title (1775). Grade: STATED for the entries (2nd–3rd zoom step); identifications as in F399.
