[last entry, remarks column] The father of No. 2 subsequently entered[?]. The child is illegitimate. On this day, before the undersigned parish office, Georg Heinrich Lessing of Nordheim[?] acknowledged paternity, with the mother’s consent, for the child entered under No. 2, which is thereby legitimated by subsequent marriage. (Compare Linse Kirchenbuch of 1858, page 173, entry 3.)

Notes
- The section does not simply stop. It is closed and signed, at Halle, by a named clergyman, five years after the last baptism it records. That matters for register coverage: a signed closing means the section is complete as digitized and that nothing is missing at its end.
- The annotation is the clearest example in this volume of the parish going back into a closed section years later to correct the record, and of it cross-referencing its own pages to do so. The reference Linse Kirchenbuch de 1858 pag. 173, 3 is a working example of the register’s internal page citation, and it points into the volume where the confirmation section is unaccounted for.
- Reading confidence. The date, place and signature are read with confidence. The body of the annotation is dense and partly abbreviated; the personal name, the village and the phrase per vorweg matrim. legitimirt are read at working confidence and should be verified before any of it is cited.
