The mill: the miller Ludewig Küster, born 24 August 1725, aged 30 years 4 months; his wife Catharina Elisabeth Romeyer, 25; children Hennig Christian (born 7 January 1751), Engel Marie (born 2 April 1753) and Johann Friedrich (born 27 January 1755); servants Johann Friedrich Küster (born 5 November 1732, aged 23), Christian Romeier (24), Johann Philipp Schmidt (17) and Christoph Schmidt (15).

Notes

  • No Wesemann, Wasmann or Wassermann anywhere in the list (Paul read Bilder 3–28; the householder index on Bild 28 has none under W).
  • The Hohnstedt mill was owned by an Amtmann Weesemann in 1686 and leased to the miller Franz Küster (census, Teil 7, p. 10). In 1755 a Küster is miller there again.
  • Ludewig Küster, born 1725, is a candidate for the Joh. Ludewig Küster "aus Salz der Helden" who married at Salzhemmendorf in 1764 and stood godfather to the miller's son in 1772. He would have been 39 in 1764, and his wife here would have to have died by then. Not shown; his baptism and his first wife's burial would test it (Hohnstedt Kirchenbuch 1637–1749).
  • The servant Johann Frid. Küster, born 1732, may be his brother; not stated.
