Finding 1 — Bild 30, entries 15 and 16, births, 1851
Illegitimate twins baptized on the same day. The two entries repeat the mother’s description verbatim, which is useful: anything hard to read in one can be checked against the other, and that is how the eheliche reading was settled.

Translation. Father: blank. Mother: Lönig, [—] Luise Wilhelmine, born 7 November 1820 (correcting a struck-out earlier date), legitimate daughter of the Halle cottager Johann Heinrich Ludewig Lönig, deceased, and of the still-living Hanne Karoline Luise Brand. The names are duly documented. Born 12 August in the morning; baptized 21 August. Son: Karl Anton August. Witnesses: bachelor August [Elsbrecht] of Halle; maiden Hanne Lönig of Halle; bachelor August [Lugau] of Kirchbrak. Remark: the children entered under nos. 15 and 16 are illegitimately born twins.
Why this entry matters
Hanne Karoline Luise Brand is a Halle Brand, married to a Halle Häusling, with a daughter born in 1820 and grandchildren baptized in 1851. That is three generations from a single entry, and it is the only one of the four findings that puts a Brand in a Häusling household rather than a landholding or official one.
