Translation

1772, no. 1. Johann Conrad Ludewig Wesemann, legitimate son of Heinrich Wesemann and Christine Campen, born 17 January, baptized 21 January. Godparents: 1. Wilhelm Campen; 2. Conr[ad] Albrecht; 3. Ludewig Küster.

Notes

The third godparent reads Ludewig Küster: the forename is split across the line (‘Lu-/dewig’). This settles plan step 17(a), Bild 55: the godfather is the Salzhemmendorf miller Joh. Ludewig Küster, and the child’s ‘Ludewig’ comes from him.

Wilhelm Campen is the mother’s father, Johann Wilhelm (von) Campen.

Transcribed 8 October 2026 from the PDF image or text layer. Readings in brackets are drafts to be confirmed on the original before they are cited as stated.

Translation (English)

Johann Conrad Ludewig Wesemann, son of Heinrich Wesemann and Christine Campen, born 17 January, baptized 21 January 1772. Sponsors: Wilhelm Campen, Conrad Albrecht, Ludewig Küster.

Notes

Bild 55, right page, heading "1772", no. 1. Bild 56 shows "Baptizati 1772" on both pages (left "Baptizati a P. Rosenhagen 1772") and p. 485 at the top of the right page, so Bild 55 right page is p. 483 by count, which fits the index folio. The third sponsor line begins "Lu-" and the next line has "dewig Küster", which resolves the "[name split across the line, unread]" above. The birth day 17 is the least sure glyph. Grade: STATED.

Transcription (German)

[Archion machine text:] Johann Conrad Ludewig Wesemann, Januar 21. [Johann] Heinrich Wesemanns u. Christine Kampen ehel. Sohn, so d. 11 Jan gebohren, wurde d 21 ejusd. getauft. Gevattern: Wilhelm Campen, [Cons.] Albrecht, 3 ... Küssel.

Translation (English)

As above; the machine reads the birth day as 11.

Notes

The human read at full resolution (17) stands; 1 and 7 are confused in machine readings of Kurrent. "Küssel" is Küster. No new information.
