The record

Transcript carried from the Chapter 2 entries list (Wesemann_Origins_Ch2_Entries, now archived). Readings are as recorded there; not re-read on the image for this file.

Transcription (original language)

30 October 1716 hat Andreas Bode einen Sohn taufen lassen, so genannt Johan Andreas [margin: cross, 1723]. Die Gevattern sind: Johan Wasman der Müller, Andreas Bode, und Anna Hedewig Bierwirst. (Draft; re-read at wide zoom 7 Oct 2026. Surname read with long s and no crossbar, unlike the Waltman entries on the same pages.)

Translation (English)

In 1716 the godfather is called the miller (der Müller) and is named Johan Wasman(n). Together with D135 and the 1689 Erbmüller Hans Waßmann (F17) this is the best link yet between the surname and the Schwiegershausen mill.

Notes

Part 2, step 0; F17. Paul to confirm the word 'Wasman' on the image. Not yet tied to Johann Heinrich or Salzhemmendorf. 8 Oct 2026: the Kölling OFB (cited in the 8 Oct report) gives a Wasmann Erbmüller to 1739, against Koch "der jetzige Müller" in 1738; flagged (Lead B).

Re-read 20 October 2026: agrees ("Johan Wasman der Müller").
