The Küster Country, 1689
Justine Marie Küster, Georg Ludewig’s wife, came from a milling family to the south (see Wesemann Family). The head-tax census of 1689 shows the mills of that country. The district of Westerhof had no mill at Oldershausen, a small mill at Willershausen “of poor living,” and a mill of two runs at Sebexen held by the full farmer and miller Julius Westphalen. The district of Katlenburg had its district miller, with an oil mill and a sawmill, and the district of Rotenkirchen its district miller, with three runs and a sawmill.
