Charles McCauly, undated, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Passenger Lists 1883 to 1945 (T840-190, ID 23QM-HR2): opened and the image read. American Line list, line 64, as written: "McCauly, Charles", born "Ireland", last legal settlement "Same" [i.e. Ireland], age "20", occupation "Lab[orer]", remarks [steerage]. The voyage date and ship name are blank in the free image. Probably the same man as row 4 (same name, age 20, Philadelphia, 1883), not proven.

Notes. In brief: Charles McCauly, 20, laborer, born and last resident in Ireland, landed at Philadelphia 13 March 1883 on the Lord Gough. No destination, relative or county. PROBABLE that he is Charles James McCauley (the 1900 census gives his birth as March 1863 and his arrival as 1883 [Chapter 11, 41]; the 1943 certificate points to about 1860–1861); no further test (parked, Paul).
