(doubtful words in [brackets]):

\(a\) Under "November" 1861, the third entry above the foot of the left page: "26 Charles McCann & Mary Quin" [the surname spelling "Quin" is the register's form], with a word in the right margin that reads "[Letteran]" (the signature-like margin word, not a witness). Witness line: "Witt. Michael Heany & John [O'Kane / O'Hane]". The entry above it: "21 Peter Donnelly & Bridget Mallon", witnesses "James Mallon & Catherine [McGuigan?]". The foot of the page is not clipped; this is the last entry on the left page.

\(b\) Right page, month heading "July" [1871]: "2 William James of Bernard Maguire & Mary [?]"; "6 Patrick of Charles McCann & Mary Quinn" [the second surname written "Quin" or "Quinn"]; sponsors line: "Spo. John [Gandy? Sandy?] & Rose Malone"; "16 Alice of Thomas Donaghy & Anne McLaw [?]"; "16 [Bernard?] of Owen Conway & Jane Conlan"; "27 Patrick of Francis Hamilton & Rose Anne [Kain?]". No day or month for the child's birth is given in the register.

\(c\) gazetteer.org.uk: "Letteran TD is a townland in the civil parish of Lissan, County Londonderry, now in the Mid Ulster council area," coordinates 54.7259, −6.7522, grid H 8044 8714. The cotyroneireland.com list of Lissan townlands gives only the Tyrone part (16 townlands, among them Ballynagilly, Broughderg, Lissan; no Letteran, no Caneese); it is not a list of the Londonderry townlands of the parish.

Translation

Charles McCann and Mary Quin married in the Lissan parish chapel registers on 26 November 1861, with Michael Heany and John O'Kane [?] as witnesses. The word at the right margin reads Letteran, the name of a townland in Lissan civil parish, Co. Londonderry. Patrick McCann, son of Charles McCann and Mary Quin(n), was baptized on 6 July 1871, with John [?] and Rose Malone [?] as sponsors.

Notes

Place word "Letteran" as the bride's or groom's townland: PROBABLE (a Lissan townland of that name exists; the word is the margin entry; the register does not say whose townland it is). Patrick baptized 6 July 1871 to Charles McCann and Mary Quin(n): PROVEN for the register's content. The sponsors' names are doubtful.
