Plain reading
Private Emilio Squitiere, born at Salerno, Italy, 24 September 1895, served from 18 July 1918 to 1 July 1919 in the 57th and then the 54th Pioneer Infantry, overseas 29 August 1918 to 26 June 1919 (Meuse-Argonne), discharged at Camp Dix. In 1934 he applied for a bonus of \$110 for 11 months; he lists his wife Rose, children Anthony and Gloria, mother Philomena and father Alexander.
Notes
STATED for parents Alexander and Philomena Squitiere and birthplace "Salerno Italy" (province; the commune is not given). PROBABLE that he is the Emilio born 1895 in Sarno (Chapter 10; Next-Steps SQ4.1a): name, 1895, Salerno province and parents' names agree.
Conflicts noted: (1) The card reads "324 W Lancaster Ave," the application "124 [E?] Lancaster Ave": transcription of one address. (2) Mother "Philomena" here, against "Filomena G. Squitiere" on her 1944 certificate: one name. (3) His wife is "Rose" in 1934; Next-Steps SQ-x6 lists the Emilio v. Rose divorce action (December Term 1935, no. 3410), so the 1934 form precedes it.
