English translation

Maria Catharina Knoll, wife of Christian David Knoll, journeyman tailor and cattle dealer [doubtful] and citizen [rest doubtful], died of consumption on 26 August after 5 in the evening and was buried on the 29th with a sermon, aged 62 years, 2 months and 21 days. Bequest 35 kreuzer.

Notes. Born about 5 June 1762 (computed). She is the mother named in the 1790, 1791 and 1798 baptisms (Maria Catharina from Schwarzenbach an der Saale) by forename and husband (PROBABLE). She died three and a half months before her daughter Barbara's wedding (7 December 1824); that she was Barbara's mother is POSSIBLE (the 1824 marriage names only the father). Her husband's trade words here are doubtful; with the 1830 "Schneidergesell" (F62) the tailor's trade is consistent. Image to save: Bild 99 (right page, nos. 15–18).
