English translation

No. 49. Johann Christoph Schlötzer, little son of Master Blasius Schlötzer, brickmaker and house owner [doubtful] here, and of his mother Eva Barbara, née G[ra]d...[doubtful], of Ober-Röslau [doubtful]; born on 29 November at 4 in the afternoon, baptized on 3 December. Witness: Master Johann Christoph Dingel [doubtful], citizen and tanner [doubtful] here. Fee 3 florins 4 kreuzer [doubtful]. Margin: died 6 September 1874 [doubtful].

Notes. With the 1813 entry (Margaretha) the simplest reading is a first wife Margaretha who died between June 1813 and November 1815, a second wife Eva Barbara (died 1824, aged 42) and Barbara Knoll as the third: a reading of three entries, not a statement in any one (THEORY). This Eva Barbara as the wife buried in 1824: PROBABLE. Image to save: Bild 118, right page, no. 49.
