3 Weeks Old, Baby Walks
MURRAY, Utah, Aug. 16 (AP). THE three-week-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. La Verl Benson hasn't a name yet, but she is already walking.
Mrs. Benson's doctor, who didn't believe it at first, either, confirmed it. He has cautioned her not to let the energetic infant walk too much.
The girl was born in a Salt Lake City Hospital July 22. She first surprised her mother about a week ago.
“I was giving her a bath and had turned her over on her stomach to wash her back,” Mrs. Benson reported today. “Resting against my left hand she raised herself on her feet and proceeded to take several steps in the bathinet.”
The doctor, who asked that his name not be used, told a reporter he had seen the baby “lift its knees and take four or five steps” while Mrs. Ben[son …] [text cut off at bottom of clipping]
Fragments of unrelated adjacent columns are visible at the left and right edges (right edge: a headline beginning “W… / Le…” and a story mentioning a lease, the Navy, a “Service”, and a section subhead “INAC[…]” and “TO […]”); not transcribed.

Transcriber's Notes
The newspaper date is not visible; only “THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, WEDN[ESDAY]” survives at the top edge. The article dateline is “Aug. 16” with no year.
“yesterady” in the photo caption is a typographical error in the original, transcribed as printed.
The kicker “Infantry” above the headline is printed (italic, underlined), not handwritten.
The end of the article is cut off in all scans after “He said he considered this very un-”.
No family surname of interest appears in the clipping; the only names are Mr. and Mrs. La Verl Benson.
