Translation (English)

George Westman, private, enrolled and mustered in on 20 March 1865 for one year as a substitute in Company G, 15th New Jersey Infantry; transferred on 21 June 1865 to Company G, 2nd New Jersey Infantry; mustered out on 11 July 1865.

Notes

A published roster compiled from the muster rolls, independent of the family's discharge certificate and in agreement on unit, period, transfer and discharge. It gives 20 March for enrolment; the certificate gives 27 March (equal tier; the certificate kept). "Westman" is the same misreading as on the certificate. The principal he replaced is not named.
