Plain reading

John H. Hippel, a married postal supervisor of 62 (born about February 1878), born in Philadelphia to Henry Hippel (born in Germany) and Caroline Reichert (born in Pennsylvania), died of angina pectoris at 4627 Oakland Street on 9 December 1940; buried at Hillside Cemetery on 14 December.

Notes

STATED for his parents' names (his wife's knowledge). PROBABLE that he is a brother of Anna E. Hippel (born 6 March 1873): the same parents' names, Philadelphia births, and Hillside burial as Anna's family.

Conflicts noted: Caroline Reichert is "born Penna." here and on Eulalia's certificate (N4.10); Anna's 1955 certificate does not give the mother's birthplace. Henry Hippel "born Germany" on this certificate; compare with the 1880 census (not yet read).
