Translation (English)
31 and 32. Linse, Tuesday 5 July, at 10 in the morning, the wife of the miller Herm. Jürgen Schäfer, Wilh. Elisabeth Heyken, was delivered of twins; [struck words]; the daughter (born 5 July, 10 in the morning) was brought to baptism on 8 July. Sponsors: 1. the miller of the Thran, Conrad Dempewulff; 2. the schoolmaster Eickhoff at Linse, [and his wife?]. Name: Johanne Conradine.
Notes
The place word reads "Thran" (looped capital T, "-ran" plain), not "[Ihme?]" (F287, Archive): PROBABLE. Conrad Dempewulff was the miller at the Thran in July 1763, while Schäfer held the Mittelmühle; with "Conr. Dempewulfs uxor von der Thran" (18 September 1768) he was at the Thran 1763–1768 and the Mittelmüller by 29 May 1771. The Archive's "baptized the same day" is corrected: born 5 July, baptized 8 July; the entry is for twins. Grade: STATED for the entry; the reading "Thran" PROBABLE.
