Translation (English)
[no. 6, Dohnsen, 22 July:] … Hans Herman Lüddeke (or Heibein), natural son of the late Johan Herman Lüddeke (or Heibein), former servant of the late Oberamtmann Schmid at Wickensen … [Note below: the groom's true family name is Heibein, of which he had long been ashamed; he took (a name from) his grandfather, (an old … man) who lived at Halle and called himself "Lüddeke Heibein"; partly uncertain]
Notes
No. 7: the surname's middle letter is read once ("Wabmann" in the hand, the long s with a b-like stroke): a Wasmann/Waßmann of Linse, of the local Wasmann families (Closed Paths D8); whether Henrich Herman is the "Heinr. Harm Wasmann" of the 1781 Wasmann × Meier entry (Bild 114) or one of the Dohnsen Wasmanns (F347) is not settled. No. 6: an example of a surname changed by choice in this register (for file 01); no Deneke or Wesemann. Grade: STATED for the text; no identification graded.
