English
On 5 October, to [Cord(?)] Schulte of ▮▮▮ [blot] ▮▮▮ of Brökeln(?), a son. Godparents: Herman Wasman of Dohnsen; Trine Margrete Meyner of Eschershausen(?), the corporal’s [wife(?)]; likewise Herman Bock, son of Christoph Bock of Wey-/Weghausen(?).
Notes
> A blot the width of the page obliterates most of lines 1 and 2, including the father’s residence. The father’s surname is read as Schulte; the forename is not secure. > > The place read as "Wey-/Weghausen" cannot be matched to a village in this parish or its neighbours. The long-s before "-en" makes a "-hausen" ending likely. Unresolved. > > Earliest Wasmann sighting in this register. The form is Wasman, single n, and the village is Dohnsen.
