English translation: 6. Father: Heinrich August Wilhelm Waßmann (underlined in the original), linen-weaver and lodger (Häusling) at Kemnade. Mother: Anne Marie Caroline Ritter, thirty-one(?) years old. Birth: the thirty-first of January, half past seven in the evening. Baptism: the seventh of February. Child: (son) Heinrich Friederich Ludewig. Godparents: 1) Friederich Ritter, journeyman shoemaker; 2) Ludewig Dörries(?), farm labourer; 3) Hanne Wachsmann(?), maidservant at Bodenwerder; all unmarried and born at Kemnade, the first two also resident there.

> Note: this is the second Waßmann household at Kemnade, and the one the parish itself later had trouble telling apart from the first. The 1863 correction entered against the 1839 baptism names this man — Leinweber Heinrich August Wilhelm Waßmann — and this wife, Anne Marie Caroline, as the true parents of a child originally entered under Friederich Wilhelm Conrad Waßmann. Both men are linen-weavers at Kemnade and both wives are née Ritter, which is how the confusion arose.
