Translation (English)
No. 38. Linse, 11 December [1780]. Christoph Brand and Anne Catharina Voges [had] a son [baptized] (born on Tuesday 5 December at 2 in the afternoon). Godparents: 1) Hans Heinrich Eickhoff; 2) Christian Häuseler[?]; 3) Friderike Linnenberg, all of Linse; 4) Engel Langen of Heyen. Name: Heinrich Christian.
Notes
- 5 December 1780 was a Tuesday, as the sign says.
- The surname is split 'Vo-/ges' at the line end; Paul read Voges (11 October 2026).
- The likelier of the two Heinrich Christians to be the Halbmeier who married Caroline Charlotte Sporleder (born 1782) in 1804 and fathered Johanne Caroline Wilhelmine (1809). Unproven between 1773 and 1780; the Halbmeier's age at death would settle it.
- Grade: Probable, close to confirmed (identity); surname Voges confirmed by Paul.
