Translation (English)
[26. Linse, 16 November 1776:] Christian Schmid [occupation unclear] and Dor[othea] Rosine Struk, a daughter (born 15 November, at 7 in the evening) [a clause about the mother read in part] … The godmother was the wife of the miller Heinrich Wasemann, in the Mittelmühle. Named Christine Charlotte.
Notes
The register names the Mittelmühle with the miller's household in November 1776, ten months before the 1777 entry on file. The last letters of "Mittelmühle" sit at the gutter edge. The father is the Linse tanner Christian Schmid ("Lohgerber" in 1771), whose daughter of 5 June 1774 had "Joh. Wilhelm Kampen Witwe … jetzt in der Mittelmühle bey ihrer Tochter" as godmother (Transcripts, 390648 Bild 47 no. 16): both entries tie the Schmid household to the miller's family. Grade: STATED for the wife of "the miller Heinrich Wasemann" in the Mittelmühle; PROBABLE that she is Clara Christina née Kampen.
