Entry 46 — Bad Pyrmont, 4 July 1715
Latin / German
Τὰ ἄνω ζητεῖτε.
Paucis hisce Nobilissimum coelo indefesso memorem Dominum Possessorem ad ulteriorem mundi contemptum incitare, ipsique nominis sui memoriam commendare voluit

English
Seek the things that are above. [Greek, Colossians 3:1]
With these few words the undersigned wished to spur the most noble Lord, possessor of this album, ever mindful of heaven, to a further contempt of the world, and to commend to him the memory of his own name.
\+ Brandanus Christoph Wesemann, presiding pastor of Wolfenbüttel.
Notes
> Written in Greek and Latin, at Bad Pyrmont, into the album of Gottfried Crusius of Stendal. The Arcinsys catalog entry for this item (Eintrag 46, pag. 160r) confirms the date, place and identification: “Bad Pyrmont 04.07.1715; Brandanus Christoph Wesemann, Pastor in Wolfenbüttel; Griechisch und Latein.” > > Brandanus Christoph Wesemann carries his own GND authority record (143068261) in the catalog's name index — an independently documented historical person, not merely a name in one book. > > “Guelpherbytanus” is the Latin adjectival form of Wolfenbüttel (Guelpherbytum), the Braunschweig ducal seat. “Pastor praesid.” (praesidens) implies a senior or presiding pastorate there, consistent with the catalog's plainer “Pastor in Wolfenbüttel.” > > No connection to the Linse/Thran milling family is stated or implied anywhere in this entry. This is Chapter 10 material — a collateral, unrelated Wesemann sighting — not Chapter 1. It predates the earliest documented Linse Wesemann (1775) by sixty years and belongs to an educated, clerical context with no documented link to the milling household.
